International Summers: Beautiful Scenery and Beaches in Paros (Vol. 1)

Six Days in Paros, Vol. 1
(six days in paradise)

Our first island stop of the trip was Paros, located in the central Aegean Sea. This charming island's historic towns are the perfect backdrop to our studies, while the unique culture and rich traditions are visible as we explore as a group. Breakfast and dinners at our hotel restaurant allow us to come together as a larger group, and students have been able to enjoy an ice cream or fresh fish and seafood just a five-minute walk down the road.

Our students have been working away but the fantastic hotel pool and beaches have been a great escape from the heating during leisure time and balance to their studies. On Wednesday we visited the nearby island of Antiparos after a short ten-minute ferry ride. There, students enjoyed the local shops among the picturesque location of colourful Cycladic architecture.

The day 7 boat excursion through the Aegean was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for students and teachers alike. The day started early at 10 am with a departure from Alyki port in the south of Paros and was filled with exploration of various coves, white sand beaches and local diving spots. Throughout the day students swam, tanned and explored all whole aboard a three-story pirate ship. Overall, this day was one that none of us will ever forget and was an adventure that explored the less-known local Hellenic beauty that is found surrounding Paros.

Yours in Greece,
Pia
