Online Admissions Process
Our admissions process varies for students in our full-time & part-time programs. Full-time programs include both our full-year and term-by-term study options at Blyth Academy Orbit and Blyth Academy Online. Part-time programs with Blyth Academy Orbit include our virtual summer school, night school, and private courses. For Blyth Academy Online, part-time study refers to students taking one or more courses with Blyth Academy Online, while maintaining active status at their home school.
International Students
If you are not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, you will be considered an International Student. Please note that the admissions process for international students differs slightly due to study visa requirements.

How To Apply
Blyth Academy Online (Self-Paced Online Courses)
Step 1: SELECT YOUR COURSE(S)
You can either:
- Make a student profile and select your course(s) when you submit your application
- Browse our selection of courses and add them to your cart for an express checkout

Step 2: Submit an Application
In order to submit an application, families must first create an account on our Student Application Portal. From your account you can manage your application, enrol in courses, and make fee payments.
Step 3: SUBMIT your DOCUMENTs
Students must submit photo ID like a passport or driver's license. They must also submit proof for all courses that require prerequisites. The prerequisite can be a final report card, transcript, or credit counselling summary. It cannot be a screenshot. If the student is from Ontario, any of these should show their Ontario Educational Number (OEN).
Step 4: begin your course(s)
Once registration is complete and you’ve submitted any required documents, you will be able to access your course within 2 business days. You will have a full calendar year to complete each course.
Please note: You will not be enroled in your course until you complete your registration.
Application Deadlines:
As these are asynchronous courses, self-directed and completed at the student’s own pace, applications can be submitted and courses started at any time of the year.
Blyth Academy Orbit (Teacher-Led Virtual Classrooms)
Step 1: Contact admissions and learn more
As an initial step of Blyth Academy’s admissions process, we encourage all parents and students to book a personalized consultation with an Admissions Advisor or campus principal. Additionally, we encourage all families to attend a virtual open house or virtually preview a Blyth Academy Orbit lesson.
Step 2: Interview and SUBMIT documents
Interviews will be scheduled with the campus principal for each applicant and their parent/guardians.
Additionally, you will be asked to submit your student’s transcript, recent report cards, and if applicable an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Psychoeducational Report. Additional documentation may be requested, such as references, work samples, and a student reflection.
Step 3: Submit formal Application
In order to submit an application, families must first create an account on our Student Application Portal. From your account you can manage your application and make fee payments. Application fees might apply*.
- Note that you will be required to pay a deposit at the time of application. If your child(ren)’s application is not successful, all deposits will be refunded.
- *This fee is refundable if admission is declined by Blyth Academy. Upon receipt of an official offer of enrolment, all Terms and Conditions apply.
Step 4: Offer of Enrolment
Upon review of completed applications, successful applicants will be sent an offer of enrolment. The offer will include all of the details students need to prepare for their first day, including a copy of the Code of Conduct, which must be reviewed and signed off on prior to starting classes.

Part-Time Programs
Applying for a single course and part-time study options with Blyth Academy is a simple, straightforward process. We offer many different ways to study part-time with Blyth Academy. For students looking at Virtual Night School, Summer School, and individual courses with Blyth Academy Online, an interview is not required.
In order to submit an application, families must first create an account on our Student Application Portal. From your account, you can add courses by the program and also make tuition and fee payments.
