Fund Your Blyth Academy Education by Converting Your Aeroplan® Miles, TD Points, & CIBC Aventura® Points

Blyth Academy is proud to announce that it is the very first grade level school to become a participating institution at HigherEdPoints. This program allows you to use your loyalty points to help fund your Blyth Academy fees! Through HigherEdPoints, Aeroplan® Miles and TD Points and/or CIBC Aventura® points can be redeemed for HigherEd credits that can be used to offset Blyth Academy, Blyth International Summers and Community Service, Blyth Academy Online, and even Blyth Academy Global High School fees. Anyone can donate their points to individual students, or simply donate their points to Blyth Academy to be used for students in need. Check the HigherEdPoints.com website for new loyalty program participants and other ways to fund education.

Frequently Asked Questions about HigherEdPoints

What is HigherEdPoints.com?

HigherEdPoints is an internet company that allows parents, family, friends, and even strangers to redeem their loyalty points for cash credits towards a Blyth Academy student’s tuition, fees, optional excursions, taxes, or indeed anything owing on the student’s account.

How does it work?

The person wishing to convert their points must register at www.higheredpoints.com. All of the instructions are found at the How It Works page. They will then be directed to the Loyalty Program page(s) where they can redeem their points for cash credits. HigherEdPoints then forwards the cash credits to us here at Blyth Academy, and the credit is applied to the student’s account.

What is the Blyth Academy Account Number?

000111

Can anyone convert loyalty points for cash credits?

Yes! That’s the beauty of the way HigherEdPoints was set up. Students can ask anyone for help with additional funding for their school. In the case of payments for school, all that is needed is the student name and date of birth. Because there’s no sensitive information being shared, anyone can make a transfer on behalf of the student at any time.

What programs at Blyth Academy are these cash credits applicable for?

Any Blyth Academy program is eligible to receive a credit. Even taxes, fees, and surcharges. If we bill for it, points can be converted to fund it.

What is the loyalty point exchange rate?

For Aeroplan, 33,750 Miles = $250.
For TD Points, 62,500 Points = $250.
For CIBC Aventura points, 35,000 Points = $250*.

*Please note that the CIBC Aventura® reward is a physical gift certificate and takes up to 4 weeks for mail delivery. To expedite this timeline, once a CIBC/HigherEdPoints redemption is completed, please email info@HigherEdPoints.com with the subject line: Expedite my CIBC HigherEdPoints redemption for Blyth Academy. You will be contacted by a HigherEdPoints team member who will help expedite the timeframe for fund transfers from your CIBC redemption.

Check HigherEdPoints’ How It Works page regularly as new loyalty programs and additional sources of funding are being added to help students and families fund their education.

Does Blyth Academy make money on the exchange rate or receive anything in return for using this program?

Absolutely not. Blyth Academy receives only the credit of $250. The point redemption rates are set by the loyalty programs. We do not make money off of the program, at all. We joined the program for our customers’ convenience and to improve access to Blyth Academy programs.

What is the student number? How do I find the student number?

HigherEdPoints requires the use of a student number, but because Blyth Academy doesn’t use student numbers, we ask that the customer uses 12345 instead. Technically, any number can be used, HighEdPoints will process your funds regardless of the number you enter, and Blyth Academy will be able to post the funds to your account without any problem. You will be prompted during the fund transfer process with this message at the HigherEdPoints site: “Blyth does not require student numbers, simply enter 12345 in this space.”

Can points be used for the full program balance?

Yes.

Does the student need to be registered with Blyth Academy in order for someone to convert their loyalty points and receive a credit?

No. We can hold the credit until the student registers.

In cases where someone has made a transfer from Higher Ed Points into a school account, and the student doesn’t end up enrolling, will Blyth Academy give a refund to the parent?

In cases where a registered student cannot attend the class or program, any transfers from HigherEdPoints will be treated the same way as any other payments. If these payments meet our terms and conditions they are eligible to receive a refund for their HighEdPoints fund transfer(s). Please note that any loyalty point redemptions are non-refundable (i.e. you cannot convert a refund back into loyalty points), as per the loyalty program’s terms and conditions.

How long does it take for a credit to show up on my account?

HigherEdPoints transfers funds on behalf of Blyth Academy students within one business day. Blyth Academy aims to post funds to student accounts within one business day of their receipt. If you complete your transfer on a weekend or a holiday, the process will be completed during the next business day or two. We will accept the date the funds are registered for transfer at HigherEdPoints as your payment date, just in case you are trying to make a payment deadline.

*Please note that the CIBC Aventura® reward is a physical gift certificate and takes up to 4 weeks for mail delivery. To expedite this timeline, once a CIBC/HigherEdPoints redemption is completed, please email info@HigherEdPoints.com with the subject line: Expedite my CIBC HigherEdPoints redemption for Blyth. You will be contacted by a HigherEdPoints team member who will help expedite the timeframe for fund transfers from your CIBC redemption.

Can multiple people cash in their points for a single student?

Absolutely.

Can I donate my points to charity instead?

Yes. We have a couple options for donating your points. You can donate your points to the Bhutan Canada Foundation, to sponsor or support a teacher travelling to Bhutan for the Bhutan Canada Foundation, or to a central pool of points that students in need will be able to access through a Blyth Academy Points Pool. The process is the same as it is for a student transfer, instead of inserting the student information, simply enter “Donation” in each field in the transfer form. We are the first charity to be included in HigherEdPoints.com.

But I’ve paid in full already! Can I apply the credit to my account and get cash refunded?

No, sorry it doesn’t work that way. The account to be credited would have to have a balance owing. However, the credits could be held for the student if they wish to make a future purchase.
