If someone walked into my classroom, they would see students who feel comfortable being who they are, they would hear conversations contributing to student success and feel welcomed by everyone due to our inclusive environment.

One of my favourite memories as a teacher is going on a 3-day long camp with my grade 11 outdoor education class. I created strong bonds with the other teachers there and got to know the students who attended on a different level than I normally would in a classroom. I thought it was so cool to see the kids try things they had never done before in an environment I love!

The most rewarding thing to see as a teacher is watching your students grow up into strong/mature individuals. When looking at the progress they have made from the beginning of the year to the end is amazing, and always my favourite part! No student ever leaves the year/ semester the same as they did on the first day!

One skill I think every student should learn is how to work in a collaborative setting. In life, we don’t always like everyone around us but still must show respect and work together to achieve common goals!
