Blyth Academy Ottawa took part in the Little Bags of Goodness initiative this week in support of women’s shelters in the Ottawa area. The program is in partnership with local community organization, Cause We Care. Students helped assemble 3,500 Little Bags of Goodness, which contained a flyer explaining the most important personal supplies needed by shelters in the surrounding areas. They then headed door to door in the Westboro neighbourhood to hand out the bags. The students and staff returned to the homes days later to collect the bags, which had been filled with supplies. Thanks to the community, the response was overwhelming. The supplies collect will help equip two Ottawa women’s shelters for an entire year. Blyth Academy Ottawa students were extremely impressed by the amount of donations received and the generosity of their neighbours. Thanks to everyone who participated!
