I was grateful and excited to work with Blyth Academy to maintain the integrity of my coursework at the highest levels, have teachers with deep subject knowledge, seamless in-person and online classes, as well as benefit from more in-person labs, engaging well-resourced student clubs, and a timetable to balance all extracurriculars.
The lines of communication are always open at Blyth Academy Lawrence Park. Parents play an important role in their children’s academic story and the teaching staff makes sure that they are regularly in contact about grades, assignments, and overall performance.

In a previous life I was a Professor of Cinema Studies. In film classes, we talk a lot about the differences between classical Hollywood cinema and its alternatives. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of classical Hollywood is a grammar of continuity editing. Back in the day, when this grammar was disrupted, the audience would feel, like Hamlet, as if time was “out of joint”.
I am writing to share some personal news today. After just over ten years as the (very!) proud Founding Principal of Blyth Academy Lawrence Park, I will be moving on at the end of Term 3 to start a new adventure.
As all likely know, under the newly announced lockdown, secondary schools in Ontario will need to remain physically closed until January 25th

To keep our staff and students safe and help slow the spread of this virus, our school is currently operating with virtual classrooms, and our 3D printer has been operating around the clock to produce comfortable and flexible plastic headbands for face shields.
Lawrence Park student, Cooper, recently celebrated his 18th birthday at the beginning of April. Because of the pandemic, he was unable to celebrate with all his friends like he originally planned.

As we approach the beginning of Term 4, I wanted to reach out once again to our broader community and express my profound gratitude and congratulations for the work that is being done by our parents, students and staff in our new virtual environment.
Following direction from the Ministry, all Blyth Academy campuses will remain closed until May. We will continue to follow the direction of the Ministry of Education and campuses will reopen once it is deemed safe and appropriate to do so.
Though our doors are temporarily closed, the minds of our students will remain open. Our students will continue their academic journey through virtual classrooms.
