Greetings Blyth Families!
Where has the time gone! It seems like yesterday we were all coming together in our student lounge for orientation day and now we are already wrapping up the school year! It has without a doubt been an eventful year, full of exciting learning experiences and challenging change due to the shift to virtual classrooms! I would like to commend everyone on their hard work and continued commitment! To our students – we recognize and appreciate all of the hard work that you put in to not only succeed but excel with this new virtual platform! To our families – your support of your children is nothing short of amazing! We recognize that you have been trying to juggle work and supporting your children academically throughout the day which is truly outstanding and very much appreciated! To our staff – we definitely could not have accomplished this without you all! You reinvented education overnight, overcame technological challenges and found ways to deliver an innovative, engaging and thorough educational experience for all! As we enter the second last week of school for our high school students, I encourage you all to finish strong! You have two months of vacation ahead of you so please continue to work hard for the next two weeks! Our elementary students are entering their last week of school with their last school day being June 19th! It has been so nice to see you all grow and improve in all aspects, and we are very excited to continue working with you all next school year!
Student of the Week
As we wrap up the week we would like to recognize Chris P. as our Student of the Week! Chris has stepped up his academic game in the virtual classroom environment and has been thriving! He has shown a commitment to his learning and dedication to achieve at the highest level! Great work, Chris!
Last Day of Classes for Elementary Students!
Congratulations to all of our Elementary students for their hard work throughout the school year and in our virtual classrooms! Your last day of school is Friday June 19th and then you are off for a well-deserved summer break! We have been so proud of everything that you have accomplished this year and we look forward to working with you all again in September! Make sure to take some time to relax but make sure to still use the summer effectively; learn something new and make a difference in someone’s life!

Volunteering in the Summer
Students who wish to support the COVID-19 efforts in their community may wish to volunteer this summer. To do so, students, in consultation with their parents, could look for community involvement hours through their local community organizations or by exploring SPARK Ontario the province’s first bilingual volunteer hub connecting volunteers with community organizations that support vulnerable Ontarians. Remember that students must have their volunteer opportunities approved by their guidance counsellor and principal before participating.
Wellness Wednesdays
Continue to look out for our Wellness Wednesday videos and activities! These are great opportunities to take a minute to reflect on how things are going and to support your mental health and well-being. If you haven’t done so already please check out the Wellness Wednesday Activity this week which is going on a Mindfulness Walk to relax and connect with the Earth, rather than focusing on your thoughts.
We are very excited about the mental health and well-being sessions Blyth is running for students and parents! We have one left and it is specifically geared towards parents. Register via the link below!
