Greetings Blyth Families!
Thanks to everyone who attended our first Virtual Parent-Teacher Interviews! I was able to pop into many interviews to say “Hi” and it was so nice seeing all of your familiar faces! While there is still uncertainty of what September will look like, we will be keeping you informed along the way! I am still hopeful that we will be back to business as usual, interacting with one another in person but I guess time will tell! Either way, I can guarantee that your children will continue to get the support and instruction that they need to be successful! Although these unprecedented times have impacted everyone in several ways, they have made me realize the power of community, the utmost importance of health and the remarkable families that are part of our Blyth Academy community! Together we have managed to continue providing our students, your children, with a strong and unique schooling experience! We look forward to this last month and to seeing our students finish their year on a positive note!
Student of the Week
As we wrap up the week we would like to recognize Dylan and Mason V. as our Student(s) of the Week! Dylan and Mason have demonstrated exceptional work ethics in our virtual classrooms and continue to excel in our new model of education! Dylan and Mason are very hard-working student-athletes who continue to thrive in the classroom and regularly attend our guest speaker sessions, fitness workouts, and game-film analysis sessions! Great work boys!
Spirit Day (Friday, June 5th)
“Take Your Pet To Class Day!”
Whether it is a dog, cat, guinea pig, or giraffe, we encourage you to bring them to your Zoom classes on Friday to show your teacher and classmates! If you don’t have a pet, feel free to change your Zoom virtual background to a picture of your favourite animal, or bring a stuffed animal!

Wellness Wednesdays
Continue to look out for our Wellness Wednesday videos and activities! These are great opportunities to take a minute to reflect on how things are going and to support your success and well-being. If you haven’t had a chance to complete the Wellness Wednesday activity from this past week, I highly recommend doing so! Ms. Charmley encourages you to reflect on four different types of wellness: physical, mental, social-emotional, and spiritual! Check Instagram or the Edsby River for details!
Who’s Most Likely To Question Game!
We hope you have been enjoying our Who’s Most Likely To Question Game that we have been running on Instagram and Facebook! We definitely had some fun ones this week including “Who is most likely to wear pyjama pants all day if they are working from home?” Ms. Fletcher took to the vote on this one!
Thanks to all students, staff and parents for all of your hard work this week and ongoing support! Have a lovely weekend!
Best,
Adam Hurley
