Blyth Academy Whitby Grade 10 student Ryan O. (who was recently drafted first round in the OHL by the Sault Sainte Marie Greyhounds), and Blyth Academy @ CIHA student Donovan S. are two of 111 kids who have been invited to try out for the U17 National Hockey team in Calgary in July. Ryan was chosen to the team after his OHL Gold Cup tournament in Kitchener at the beginning of May.
The camp includes the top 111 players in their age group from all across Canada and will take place in Calgary from July 21-27. From there and based on early season play, they choose players to make 3 Canadian teams for the international tournament in November in New Brunswick.
