Congratulations to current student-athlete Sarah-Michelle Gendron, who committed to Mercyhurst University! 

Congratulations to current student-Athlete Emmanuelle Gendron, who committed to Holy Cross University starting in the fall of 2023! Holy Cross University is an NCAA Division I hockey program located in Worcester, Massachusetts that plays in the Hockey East Association. 

On Oct 6th the students participated in a Terry Fox event. A group of students ran the 5km course with Ms. Kelly and Coach Andre, while the others walked around Rockland.

On our first Wellness Wednesday we focused on developing awareness of the ongoing issues faced by Indigenous communities across Canada.

Today, we delivered 3200 Handy Hooks to Embrun Ambulance Station who will then distribute them to nursing homes and hospitals in the region to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

I have been principal of Blyth Academy @CIHA now for 5 years and, if limited to just one word, I would describe our school as “personal”. It’s what makes us special; we foster an environment in which every student is known and becomes part of that family.

A huge thank you to alum Gabriel Vilardi who took some time out of his day and spoke to our students via video chat. Gabe is currently playing for the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League.

Following direction from the Ministry, all Blyth Academy campuses will remain closed until May. We will continue to follow the direction of the Ministry of Education and campuses will reopen once it is deemed safe and appropriate to do so.

Though our doors are temporarily closed, the minds of our students will remain open. Our students will continue their academic journey through virtual classrooms.

The Ontario government has made the decision to close all publicly funded schools for two weeks following March Break due to COVID-19 concerns. The safety of our students is Blyth Academy’s number one priority. All Blyth Academy campuses will also be closed from March 14-April 5.

Yesterday, staff and students at Blyth@CIHA drove 3 SUVs that were fully packed with bags and boxes of donations to an amazing organization called Operation Come Home.

The sun was shining down on our students yesterday as they hit the pavement for the Terry Fox Walk along the Rideau Canal to Parliament Hill. Thanks to everyone who supported through donations benefiting the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research.
