UNIT ONE
Patterns and Sustainability
In this unit, students will discuss the meaning of geography. They will learn how the earth’s population is changing, where people live, what influences where people settle, settlements and the environment, where people want to live if they could choose, how climate change affects regions, the rising of sea levels, physical processes, why people move around, land use, and how we create sustainable communities.
UNIT TWO
Economic Development and Quality of Life
In this unit, students will build an understanding of quality of life. This will be investigated through the lens economics, economic sectors and global trade, population growth and the economy, and global development.
ASSESSMENT
The final grade a student achieves will represent the quality of their overall achievement of expectations for the course. The final grade will be determined by evaluations conducted throughout the duration of the course.
