The Ontario Curriculum: Canadian and World Studies
Course Overview
This course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the complex interrelationships within Canada’s natural and human systems and their connections to global systems. Students will explore key aspects of Canadian history, geography, and citizenship, examining how historical interactions, governance, and environmental stewardship have shaped Canada’s identity and role in the world. UNIT ONE
Heritage and Identity
In this unit, students will explore the early interactions between Indigenous peoples and European settlers, analyzing the impact of these encounters on the development of Canadian identity. Through the study of historical events and communities, students will gain insight into how these interactions have shaped the cultural and social fabric of Canada. UNIT TWO
People and Environment
