Celebrating Blyth Academy's Recent OHL Draft Success

Blyth Academy is thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of our student-athletes who were recently drafted into the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). These young athletes have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, and hard work, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.

Blyth Academy is proud to recognize several current and former students for their recent achievements in the OHL Priority Selection.

Current Students:

  • Illia Shybinskyi: Forward with the Toronto Junior Canadiens Jr. A, named to Team OJHL Young Guns – Battle of Ontario All Star Event, Ukrainian National Team – U18 World Championships, selected 85th overall by the Guelph Storm

Former Students:

Perseverance Pays Off: Students Earn Spot in U18 Priority Selection

The OHL Under-18 Priority Selection provides a valuable second chance for draft-eligible U18 AAA players in Ontario to be selected by Ontario Hockey League teams. Open to players not already on an OHL Protected List and competing with accredited Ontario-based U18 AAA clubs or Hockey Canada sport schools, the draft was created to broaden opportunities for late-developing talent. We are proud to share that several of our student-athletes were recognized in this year’s draft.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all these outstanding athletes. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the support of their families, coaches, and the Blyth Academy community. We look forward to following their journeys and celebrating their future successes in the OHL and beyond.
