Perseverance Pays Off: Students Earn Spot in U18 Priority Selection
The OHL Under-18 Priority Selection provides a valuable second chance for draft-eligible U18 AAA players in Ontario to be selected by Ontario Hockey League teams. Open to players not already on an OHL Protected List and competing with accredited Ontario-based U18 AAA clubs or Hockey Canada sport schools, the draft was created to broaden opportunities for late-developing talent. We are proud to share that several of our student-athletes were recognized in this year’s draft.
-
Antonio Bonavota: Selected 15th overall by the Kingston Frontenacs.
-
Kayden Brand: Selected 17th overall by the Brantford Bulldogs.
-
Mark Dariavin: Selected 19th overall by the Kitchener Rangers
-
Trofim Litvinov: Selected 29th overall by the Niagara Ice Dogs.
-
Crosby Dacosta: Selected 37th overall by the Brantford Bulldogs.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all these outstanding athletes. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the support of their families, coaches, and the Blyth Academy community. We look forward to following their journeys and celebrating their future successes in the OHL and beyond.
