Blyth Academy News
Congratulations to our 2022 graduates! Over the past two weeks, graduation ceremonies have taken place at our eight Ontario campuses (Burlington, Downsview Park, Etobicoke, Lawrence Park, London, Mississauga, Waterloo, Whitby). Parents and families were in attendance as were guest speakers and principals and staff.
Once a year, Globeducate Debates gives students aged 10 to 18 in Globeducate schools the opportunity to pitch their ideas against an opposing team in another Globeducate school in another country. Between June 13th and 17th 2022, a team of Blyth Academy Burlington students took part in the annual student debate competition.
I was grateful and excited to work with Blyth Academy to maintain the integrity of my coursework at the highest levels, have teachers with deep subject knowledge, seamless in-person and online classes, as well as benefit from more in-person labs, engaging well-resourced student clubs, and a timetable to balance all extracurriculars.
The Blyth Academy annual prom was back in-person this year. With a guest-list of almost 200, staff and students gathered from ten different campuses across Ontario at the beautiful Palais Royale; a famous waterfront venue in Toronto. Dinner was set against a backdrop of the city skyline, the dance floor was filled with smiles and energy, and students were beyond excited to dance and mingle with their friends ‘like old times’.
Blyth Academy is proud to announce a new agreement with Shorelight, which will provide students interested in an international education enrollment support to 21 of the top 150 tier-one undergraduate American universities. Through Shorelight, students will have access to a simple portal to fast track the U.S. admissions process in two to four weeks instead of the standard time of two to four months.
As a member of the Blyth Academy Admissions team, I watched as students flipped between in-person and online learning, with little warning, throughout the pandemic. As a result, I began hearing similar stories from our families. Each student is unique, yes, but they are showing the same set of fears and concerns
