Blyth
is pleased to announce its 2009 International Summer
Scholarship Program. This year, in celebration of Blyth’s
sponsorship of the ROM’s presentation of Darwin: The Evolution Revolution, an additional scholarship
has been set up to send an upper-year high school student
on our Amazon and the Galapagos Islands program. Please
follow the directions below to apply; your
short essay, however, should explore Charles Darwin and his influence
upon modern society and why you feel passionate about Darwin and the Galapagos Islands. Best of luck to all our applicants!
To apply for a
Blyth Scholarship for the summer of 2009 candidates
must meet the following criteria:
· Grade 10, 11 or 12 student
· Minimum 75-80% average
· Canadian citizen
· Interested in travel
· Community and school involvement
· Exhibits strong leadership characteristics
and personal integrity
· Students who for financial reasons would not
be able to participate in the program
Excluded programs: Summer at Sea Grand
Med and Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

- Please provide a 500 word essay exploring why you
feel passionate about both the location you are applying
to travel to and the course you are applying to take.
- Mail or fax the above forms along with your high
school transcript, a copy of your most recent report
card, a short reference letter from your guidance
counsellor from your home school and a personal letter
from a parent/guardian outlining your financial need
