COURSE OUTLINES

Grade 11 Culinary Arts (TFT3C)
This course will provide students with a hands-on opportunity to learn about food and culinary tourism. Students will acquire skills related to purchasing ingredients from farms, markets and stores, preparing and presenting food, critiquing restaurants,working within a budget, and organizing special events. They also learn about economic and environmental impacts on food production, and health and safety standards. While this course will introduce career possibilities in the hospitality industry, it is for those that love food and want to connect to it from seed to table. The units will be taught simultaneously throughout the course using a holistic approach.

Grade 12 Culinary Arts (TFT4C)

This course will provide students with a hands-on opportunity to learn about food and culinary tourism.
