It is time for us to head to the beach! Where better to learn to surf than California? Departing our hotel in the morning we will travel to Santa Monica where we will be given our own private group lesson. We will spend time learning the basics before heading out into the surf. After our lesson we will have plenty of free time to explore Santa Monica before heading back to our hotel in time for dinner.

This is the only tour in Hollywood that visits Mulholland Drive, which provides one of the best vantage points in the city, and is home to a large number of movie stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brittany Spears, John Travolta, Sharon Stone, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Jennifer Lopez, to name a few.

On the tour, you will learn about Hollywood, explore the neighborhoods where the movie stars live, visit a series of famous movie locations, and drive by the multi-million dollar homes owned by celebrities. There will be plenty of photo opportunities on the tour. Be sure to keep your camera ready because you never know when a celebrity sighting may occur.

First, we will see where Julia Roberts lived and was eventually rescued on the fire escape by Richard Gere in the movie Pretty Woman. This famous movie location is known as the Las Palmas Hotel, and is located just off of Hollywood Boulevard.

Next, we will head up and into the Hollywood Hills to our first stop at The Hollywood Bowl Overlook. This overlook is situated to provide a beautiful view of of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. After a brief stop, we continue our tour along Mulholland Drive into some of the famous neighborhoods of the Hollywood Hills.

Heading into Beverly Hills, you will begin to see more gated estates and more elaborate mansions. See the Hilton household where Paris and Nicki grew up. Directly across the street, view the estate of musician Rod Stewart and his daughter, Kimberly Stewart.

We will then head back towards Hollywood along the exciting Sunset Strip, which is full of restaurants, clubs, hip hotels, and nightlife for the masses. We will drive by the Key Club where they filmed Night at The Roxbury with Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell. See the Viper Room which is formerly owned by Johnny Depp. Watch for stars as we drive by numerous outdoor cafés and bars that are frequented by many celebrities, and check out some of the hip hotels along The strip.

Project Angel Food

Join the celebrities, like Fergie, who volunteer at Project Angel Food! This organization prepares and delivers approximately 1600 meals a day for children, women and men who are affected by cancer, HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses. The recipients are in desperate need of good nutritious meals since they do not have the ability to make or afford the food themselves. Students will meet one of Angel Food’s administrators in the morning for an orientation. They will then join certified chefs and other volunteers to prepare nutritious and much needed meals. Students will earn community service hours for their work, while learning to cook and making difference for those in need.

These hours are fully accredited towards your community service requirements in Ontario.

Donations of clothing and supplies are needed at a number of charity organizations in L.A. Collect these from your friends and family and bring them to donate during your trip. You may earn up to a maximum of two hours.
