| Surfing
Lesson at Playa Grande ($95.00 CAD) |
|
Costa
Rica has long been a popular destination for
surfers worldwide, and famous Playa Grande is
one of the most coveted beaches for wave riders
of all levels on the Pacific Coast. Located
in Las Baulas National Park, Playa Grande is
a long white-sand beach offering stunning views
of the surrounding natural marine park, which
has been carefully preserved since it is a nesting
site for huge leatherback turtles. The quiet
beach is also an ideal destination to learn
surfing as it is rarely crowded and provides
consistent and rideable waves with perfect left
and right peaks.
We will depart the Villas early on Saturday
for a short ride through coastal towns before
arriving at Playa Grande. There we will be greeted
by our surf instructors, who will provide equipment
(fee included) and go over the basics and safety
of surfing this famous beach. Each student will
receive individual attention and instructions
(fee included) before having the opportunity
to conquer the waves on his own. Hang ten, and
look out for those swells!
After a fun day of surfing, we will have lunch
(included) in a nearby beach café, stroll
the marine park, and return to the Villas in
the afternoon.

| Playa
Conchal Weekend excursion ($295.00 CAD) |
Playa
Conchal is widely considered to be Costa Rica’s
most beautiful beach. Situated on the Northwest
Pacific coast in a stunning protected bay, this
spectacular kilometre-long beach fronts warm turquoise
waters and offers magnificent views of the coastline.
Its name, which literally means “Shell Beach,”
refers to the millions of softened tiny crushed
sea shells that make up the beach, a cherished
national treasure which has been declared a Natural
Reserve by the Costa Rican government, making
the shells illegal to remove.
We will leave the Villas at early on Saturday
morning for a brief journey through charming hamlets
and coastal towns before arriving at Playa Conchal
by 10 am. We will have free time to settle in
to our hotel and eat lunch (included) before taking
advantage of the many water and leisure activities
of Playa Conchal. The rocky point just off the
beach offers some of the best snorkelling (fee
included) in the area with crystal clear waters
of Caribbean quality, while the cresting waves
of nearby Brasilito Beach (5 minute walk) are
a great place to boogie board or body surf. At
the end of our day, we will enjoy a lovely dinner
(included) of authentic Costa Rican cuisine and
local seafood specialties.
Sunday morning, after breakfast (included), we
will stroll along the beach to the nearby town
Brasilito, a popular spot for tourists and locals
alike because of its quaint shops and friendly
atmosphere. We will then return to Conchal for
more water activities or simply a lazy day at
this mesmerizing beach before eating a late lunch
(included) and returning to the Villas in time
for dinner.
