Position: Senior Level Teachers

  • Outstanding expertise in specified subject area(s)
  • Innovative curriculum delivery
  • Ability to provide effective experiential learning
  • Experience working with students in small classes would be an asset
  • Evidence of cooperative initiatives

                               INTERNATIONAL SUMMER PROGRAMS

Position: Senior Level Teachers

We are seeking qualified teachers for our international summer programs for the 2010 season. There are a number of positions available in a variety of senior level secondary school credit courses.  To apply, please forward your resume and include the courses you are qualified to teach.  Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews in March.

Job Description:

  • Teach selected Ontario Secondary School curriculum courses in an international setting
  • Ensure students are provided with appropriate materials to prepare for credit courses
  • Provide students with various evaluation opportunities for success  
  • Support and assist the regular routines of the program including supervision of students in a residential setting
  • Maintain communication with students, parents, and program coordinators as required

Availability: July or August

Qualifications:

  • Possess Ontario College of Teachers (or equivalent) certification.
  • Expertise in specified subject area(s).
  • Experience working with students in a residential setting.
  • Innovative curriculum delivery.

  • Ability to engage students in experiential learning.

  • Evidence of cooperative initiatives.

THE BHUTAN CANADA FOUNDATION

Job Description:
The Bhutan Canada Foundation is recruiting Canadian and American certified teachers to teach in The Kingdom of Bhutan for year long contracts February 2011 - December 2011. We are looking for Primary Specialists, Special Education Specialists, as well as High School Math, Science and English specialists. All other teachables welcome. No other language necessary as English is the language of instruction in Bhutan beginning in Grade 2. Teachers will be placed in Bhutanese schools across the country.
You are able to request posting location as well as age of students and subject that you would like to teach. Teachers are paid a local salary of 20,000 Ngultrum's which is about $500 USD a month. This is more than enough to cover your living expenses in Bhutan.
Accommodations will be found for you, and teachers have the full support of The Bhutan Canada Foundation office and staff located in Toronto, Canada and Thimphu, Bhutan.

Out first group of eight teachers left for Bhutan February 2010 and have just begun teaching at their schools across the country. Please check our website regularly for updates from them.
