CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT TO BRING

The following is a list of clothing and equipment to bring for work and the safari.

CLOTHING EQUIPMENT
  • two – three pairs of comfortable long trousers
  • two or three pairs of shorts
  • long sleeve shirts (for evening warmth and/or sun protection)
  • light weight sweater or pull over
  • warm jacket (especially important in the cooler months of June to September and if camping in the Ngorongoro Highlands)
  • rain gear
  • pair of thongs/sandals for around camp
  • pair of athletic shoes or comfortable walking shoes
  • T- shirts
  • bathing suit
  • hat backpack
  • day pack to carry
  • hiking shoes
  • Windbreaker
  • Warm sweater/jacket/down vest
  • sleeping bags
  • Small pillow
  • Towels
  • Mosquito net
  • Personal toiletries
  • Protective eyewear
  • camera and film/memory card. Try to bring as much film as you will need for the entire trip as film is very expensive here and not available everywhere
  • binoculars
  • sunglasses
  • 2 1-litre plastic water bottles
  • flashlight with extra batteries and bulbs (lighting is not provided in tents)
  • sun screen
  • insect repellent****
  • wet wipes are 100% a must
  • If you can, obtain a hat with a light on it
  • Working gloves and steel- toe shoes
