The CUJAE
children’s play ground is located well UNDER THE
TROPICAL SUN so be sure to bring the following items:
• Cotton clothing (it will keep you cool and covered)
• Work clothes (for painting, cleaning,
gardening, etc)
• Gardening gloves
• Beach clothes
• Smarter clothes for more formal
occasions and dinners out
• Light sweater and/or jacket for
cooler evenings
• Lightweight raincoat for those
occasional downpours
• Sandals and other comfortable shoes
• Sun hat (designed for the beach - Mexican sombreros are ideal)
• Bathing suit
• Suntan lotion (with a high SPF)
• Sunglasses (good quality sunglasses are highly
recommended as the tropical sun can damage your vision)
• Daypack
• Flashlight (which you should have with you at all times)
SNACKS
Snacks are considered a luxury item in Cuba. Things
like chips, gum, pop, and treats are expensive there.
We suggest that you bring the snacks that you are going
to want. Treats like granola/power bars are easy to
pack and great to snack on. There is plenty of ice cream
in Cuba but you have to bring your own ice cream spoon.
So bring one for your trip.
MEDICAL KITS AND SUPPLIES
It is essential to bring your own medical kit
(see below), as supplies may be difficult to find, and
choice is extremely limited.
