Blyth Community Service Trips
Divided between the Monteverde Cloud Forest and the beautiful beaches of the Pacific coast, our work will focus on sustainable community and economic development.
In association with the Bhutan Canada Foundation, Blyth will be taking volunteers into the ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon’. This is a rare opportunity to tour a country untouched by the rest of the world for hundreds of years.
These international trips are built around community service projects rather than credit courses, but students will still walk away with valuable insights and experience gained through service learning. Whether they take on one large-scale project or several smaller ones, the end result is that of making a difference in the lives of others, a positive impact on the environment and community, and a deep sense of personal growth. Our students have many different reasons for enrolling in these projects including a thirst for adventure, the desire to spark positive change, the fulfillment of high school community service requirements, or the self-discovery and leadership development of participating in a project abroad. Regardless of their reasons, these trips open the hearts and minds of all those involved. Students will leave the program having learned a lot about themselves, the world around them and having gained a new perspective on global issues.
