Blyth Education
     The View Foundation
Blyth International Summers    Blyth Academy

The Initiative: We would like to recognize schools whose students volunteer with us consistently, to establish relationships with those institutions, and to incorporate their educational goals into our transformational service opportunities. There are two forms, one for 5 – 10 students from the same school who participate in any one of our projects (e.g. Tanzania, 2008), and a second for 10 or more from the same school:

I) Partners in International Community Service (5 – 10 volunteers)

(School) The View Foundation will:

  • Acknowledge the partnership with the school on our website.
  • Present a plaque honouring the relationship and the school as “Partners in International Community-Service,” which can be displayed at the school.

Volunteers:

  • Each volunteer will receive a “Partners in International Community-Service” certificate.
  • The “Point student” (who is responsible for encouraging others to join our efforts) will receive an “Award of Merit in Community Service and Leadership.”

II) Leaders in International Community Service (10 volunteers)

(School) The View Foundation will:

  • Feature the school on our website.
  • Collaborate to inform local news media of the partnership.
  • Present a plaque honouring the relationship and the school as “Leaders in International Community-Service,” which can be displayed at the school.

Volunteers:

  • Each volunteer will receive a “Leaders in International Community Service” certificate
  • The “Point student” (who is responsible for encouraging others to join our efforts) will receive an “Award of Distinction in Community Service and Leadership.”

** Education:

  • View Foundation staff will incorporate aspects of the school’s educational philosophy and vision into the project’s strategy.

For students, this is a chance to encourage classmates to join this transformational experience; and for educators, this is an opportunity to collaborate in preparing students to become active global citizens and leaders.
