Every year Blyth Academy helps hundreds of students to travel around the world to take part in experiential education and transformative travel. If you are interested in travelling with us this summer, but for financial reasons you are unable to take part in our programs, we encourage you to apply for financial aid . Financial aid ranges from $250 to full funding. The needs-based financial aid committee looks for students with financial need who have strong academic records, demonstrate community and school involvement and have an interest in travel.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

To apply to the Needs-based financial aid program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Students who for financial reasons would not be able to participate in the program
Grade 10, 11 or 12 student
Minimum 75-80% average
Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
Community and school involvement
Exhibits strong leadership characteristics and personal integrity
Interested in travel

Short Essay
- Please provide a 500 word essay explaining why you would like to study abroad and how you believe you will contribute to your chosen program.
Program deposit of $750 plus registration fee of $95. Note: If your scholarship application is declined or the scholarship amount is insufficient to allow you to travel with Blyth, you can request a full refund.
High school transcript – transcripts can be obtained from your guidance office.
Most recent report card
One reference letter – a letter from either a teacher or a leader in your community.
Letter of financial need – a personal letter from a parent/guardian outlining your financial need.

Applicants will be contacted to confirm the application has been received; however, final scholarship decisions will not be available until February 28.

Those receiving financial aid will have until March 9th to confirm their acceptance.
